Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Sumy on April 13, triggering air raid alerts across Kyiv and multiple Ukrainian regions, with the strike confirmed by Ukraine’s Air Force and Center for Countering Disinformation chief Andriy Kovalenko after explosions rocked the northern Ukrainian city, according to public broadcaster Suspilne.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported a widespread air alert at 10:17 a.m. on April 13, citing the threat of ballistic weapons toward Sumy Oblast from Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Overnight into April 13 (from 8:30 p.m. on April 12), Russia attacked Ukraine with 55 Shahed attack UAVs and various types of decoy drones.

The destruction of 43 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones in the north, south, and center of the country has been confirmed.

12 enemy decoy drones were lost to radar without negative consequences, the Air Force reported.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that Russian troops launched about 30 drones at the Ukrainian capital. Air defense forces destroyed 19 of them.
