Ukraine's allies have finalized military security guarantees to support Kyiv in countering possible further Russian aggression after the peace deal is reached, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Sep. 3, according to dpa.

The groundwork laid by military chiefs after the Aug. 18 Ukraine summit at the White House has paved the way for swift action.

"Thanks to the contributions prepared, documented, and confirmed this afternoon at the defense minister level under strict secrecy, we can now say: this work is complete and ready for political approval," Macron said at the Élysée Palace in Paris during a reception for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The security guarantees are to include strengthening the Ukrainian military, sending ground troops to secure peace in Ukraine and involving the U.S. in the security commitments.

On Sep. 4, Paris will host a "Coalition of the Willing" meeting led by Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Besides Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who arrived in the French capital late on Sep. 3, the meeting will also be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and other participants will join remotely.

A telephone conversation between European leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., followed by a final press conference at 4:00 p.m.
