Problems with ammunition supplies and communications in the Russian army are becoming systemic and increasingly affecting the combat capability of its units, the Atesh partisan movement reported on Apr. 19.

According to the movement’s agents, Russian servicemen are increasingly discussing shortages of ammunition for certain types of artillery, referring to a so-called “shell hunger” that directly affects units’ ability to fire and hold positions.

At the same time, communications remain a serious problem. The systems in use operate unstably and are easily disrupted by electronic warfare.

As a result, units lose coordination, and command and control in some sectors of the front is effectively complicated or disrupted.

As Atesh noted, these issues are actively discussed by the servicemen themselves and are already perceived as systemic.

“At the same time, resources are gradually being depleted, and the effectiveness of units continues to decline,” the movement said.

On April 12, Atesh reported that partisans destroyed a locomotive in Russia’s Rostov Oblast, disrupting supplies to occupying forces on the Zaporizhzhia axis.
