Spain will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package,
including Leopard main battle tanks and large-caliber ammunition, Spanish
Defense Minister Margarita Robles announced on May 20.
As reported by Spanish newspaper El Mundo, Robles said the aid shipment will arrive in Ukraine by late June.
She made the announcement during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, chaired by U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
On May 6, Robles confirmed that Madrid has delivered a batch of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
In March, media outlets reported that Spain would deliver 19 Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine, pulling them from long-term storage.
