Case against Tymoshenko unlikely to lead to consequences – analyst

“First of all, where are these information leaks coming from again from NABU and SAPO (laughs — ed.), if you are talking about the quality work of law enforcement agencies, in this case NABU and SAPO?

‘Exposed’ is when there is a verdict. We have seen all these stories 150 times that then ended in nothing.

By the way, regarding the Mindich case. I think it is clearly stalling. For example, for some reason NABU and SAPO seem not to see people linked to former lawmaker-traitor Andrii Derkach at all. There are no suspicions regarding former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, and there are no suspicions regarding Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin.

That is why I do not think this will lead to anything. ‘Exposed’ is when there are concrete verdicts. Suspicions that someone said something — you cannot attach that to a case. Especially if it is actually true.

Moreover, I think this is a response to the commission headed by lawmaker Serhii Vlasenko from Batkivshchyna, which is engaged, among other things, in reviewing what the anti-corruption bodies are doing.

Furthermore, Mr. Vlasenko, for example, is actively in contact with Mr. Stanislav Bronevytskyi. He is a former SAPO employee; they recently had a joint interview. He is also critical of what is happening in NABU and SAPO, runs a corresponding Telegram channel, and so on.

And there is also no reaction, for example, from NABU and SAPO to the fact that SAPO head Oleksandr Klymenko together with Servant of the People faction leader Davyd Arakhamia effectively helped businessman Borys Kaufman avoid the case over the Odesa airport. By the way, there is also no reaction regarding the dismissed NABU detective who handled that case.

Therefore, I believe this is all internal infighting, because NABU and SAPO are in fact not showing effectiveness. There is more talk and information attacks, but in reality we still do not see investigations. That is why I think this will end in nothing.

This may affect parliament. Several ministries are now in limbo at once. For example, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Maliuk, has been dismissed, and who will now lead the SBU? Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal was dismissed, so now neither the Defense Ministry nor the Energy Ministry has a new head appointed.

Therefore, I believe this will end in nothing, like most of the cases handled by NABU and SAPO.”
