Ukraine's SBU Security Service and National Police arrested four individuals accused of setting fire to Armed Forces vehicles in Zaporizhzhia and Kropyvnytskyi, the SBU reported on Aug. 29.
Russian forces have formed two arsonist groups, including three minors, targeting Ukrainian military SUVs and Ukrzaliznytsia relay cabinets, according to the SBU.
The attackers sought monetary rewards, used flammable mixtures to start fires, and filmed their actions to create fake narratives about an anti-Ukrainian underground.
Two individuals were detained in Zaporizhzhya for setting fire to Ukrainian military vehicles, and a 41-year-old former engineer and his stepson were arrested in Kropyvnytskyi for attempting to burn military vehicles.
The suspects face up to eight years in prison.
