Kyiv has introduced temporary changes to public transit after the Russian strike on the Northern Bridge.

Buses No. 22 and No. 91 have been rerouted. They are temporarily running from the left bank to the right bank of Kyiv via the Darnytskyi Bridge on the following route:

− Mykoly Bazhana Avenue − Dniprovska Embankment − Bereznyakivska St. − Yuriya Shumskoho St. − Petra Radzinia St. − Darnytskyi road-rail bridge − Nadnipryanske Highway − Mykoly Mikhnovskoho Boulevard − Holosiyivskyi Avenue, then on their own routes.

From the right bank to the left bank, buses No. 22 and 91 run on previously changed routes.

Trolleybus service has also changed for Nos. 29, 30, 31 and 47:

- Nos. 29, 30, 31, 47 (departing from the left bank): from Myloslavska St. to Darnytska Square.

- Nos. 29, 30, 31 (departing from the right bank): from Kurenivska Square, Lukyanivska metro station and Kadetskyi Hai St. to Pochaina metro station.

Service has also changed for buses Nos. 21, 73, 101 and 114 because of the closure of the Northern Bridge.

Bus service has been organized to Darnytska Square.

The strike on the North Bridge came during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's visit to Kyiv.

Reuters notes that Merz will announce an aid package that includes 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in military aid and 350 million euros ($394 million) to rebuild the energy sector.

Merz said he went to Kyiv "because Ukraine needs all our support in the coming weeks." The chancellor said that despite Russian strikes, Ukrainians are not letting Russian terror break them.

On Oct. 1 and 2, Russian forces struck the Southern Bridge in Kyiv with drones, damaging the road surface, a bridge support, a barrier and the protective concrete covering of the metro. The bridge was fully closed to vehicle and metro traffic. On Oct. 3, the Russian army attacked the Northern Bridge.

On Sept. 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during massed Russian drone attacks, Ukraine's air defense forces shoot down about 70% of drones, and the interception rate for jet-powered drones is 57%.

On Sept. 29, the head of state said Ukraine had identified the first prototypes of weapons for shooting down jet-powered Shaheds.
