“Secretary Austin will depart for Germany where he and the Chairman, Chairman C.Q. Brown, Jr., will host the 20th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base,” said Singh.
“The Secretary and the Chairman will join ministers of defense and senior military officials from nearly 50 nations around the world to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine and reiterate that the United States and this coalition continue to stand with the people of Ukraine.”
“We will not let Ukraine fail in its war to defend themselves against Russian aggression,” she added.
The last meeting at the Ramstein base was held online. Austin just got out of the hospital at the time and was working from home. The meeting had strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, as well as artillery systems and drones on the agenda.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi discussed preparation for the next Ramstein meeting with Austin on March 11.
