Australia will provide $66 million AUD (about $42 million USD) to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Ukraine’s rebuilding, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced in Kyiv on Dec. 18.
Australia's contribution will help Ukraine secure additional loans totaling about A$400 million over the next decade for post-war reconstruction, while also allocating A$6.39 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced during her first bilateral visit to Kyiv in 10 years on Dec. 18.
Wong also confirmed the upcoming reopening of the Australian embassy in Ukraine and mentioned Australia's prior military aid, including 14 rigid-hull boats and 49 Abrams tanks, part of a A$245 million assistance package announced in October.
