The incident happened right in front of the entrance to the apartment building.
"The man was injured. This was not an enemy attack, but the result of years of inaction," Tkachenko wrote.
The government has instructed the newly appointed head of the Podilskyi District State Administration, Volodymyr Nakonechnyi, to keep in touch with the victim, take the situation in this building under his personal control, and inspect all facades for danger.
"We will provide all the help we can. And then we will have a serious conversation with the district management companies," he said.
American director Christopher Walters, who is in Ukraine to document Russia’s war, posted a video about the incident on his Instagram page.
Later, his wife clarified that the balcony fell together with the director, who was sitting in a chair, Kyiv24 TV channel reports. The incident occurred on May 24. The director suffered a concussion, bruises, and cuts.
