Lukashenko surprised Russian ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine is taking this long
In an interview with the Associated Press on May 5 he admitted that he feels that the “Russian special operation” wasn’t going as planned.“To be honest, I didn’t think this operation will take this long,” said Lukashenko.
“I’m not too familiar with this problem to say whether it is going according to the Russians’ plan, but that’s my feeling.”
“I will reiterate: I fell this operation is dragging on.”
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, aiming to dismantle the state and install a puppet regime in Kyiv. However, the Kremlin lost the battle for Ukraine’s capital, and was forced to retreat from the north of the country.
In other parts of Ukraine, Russian troops have also failed to meet their strategic objectives, in over two months of war.
