An ammunition depot caught fire in
Russia’s Belgorod Oblast on the evening of Aug. 18 announced regional governor
Vyacheslav Gladkov, according to Russian news agency RBC. Residents of nearby
villages are being evacuated.
The incident took place near the village of Timonovo in the Valuysky city district.
No casualties or fatalities have been reported. Emergency services are working on site.
Russian authorities have not specified the cause of the fire.
Local Telegram channels published video footage of the aftermath, which shows a column of thick smoke and fire.
Previously, explosions rang out in the Russian city of Belgorod on July 3. It was reported that a family from Ukraine, which fled from the hostilities, died as a result of the blasts.
