Belgorod Governor complains after claims of two more incidents of shelling

Concern over the vulnerability of Russian
cities to Ukrainian attack is growing inside Russia as exemplified in recent
comments by Belgorod Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
"We experienced two shelling incidents this morning, prompting the activation of our air defense system," he wrote in a Jan. 3 update on Telegram.
Gladkov complained about the challenges Belgorod faced on Jan. 2, when one Russian died and 11 were injured.
Combined with the Dec. 30 shelling of a military base near the city, he claimed that 70 Russians have been hospitalized.
Earlier, Gladkov claimed that Russian air defense intercepted multiple "aerial targets" heading towards Belgorod in the early hours of Jan. 3.
2, Belgorod saw three air raid alarms on Jan. 2, accompanied by evening explosions, the governor alleged.
