Most of Biden-committed weapons delivered to Ukraine, US officials say

Four packages totaling about $3 billion were announced in the final months of Joe Biden's presidency, including critical critical munitions and anti-armor systems. Most of what’s left are armored vehicles, which take longer to refurbish. They were to be delivered to Ukraine by August 2025. 

The PDA allows the President to authorize the direct transfer of existing U.S. defense equipment from the Pentagon's inventory, making it ideal for immediate needs. Other avenues of assistance to Ukraine include the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program.

Ukraine has also signed contracts with U.S. private companies for newly manufactured weapons to ensure a steady stream of weapons in the coming years. Despite the potential for disruption by the Trump administration, there is currently no sign of such interference, especially considering that many, if not most, of these contracts have been paid for.

On March 3, Trump ordered a complete suspension of military aid to Ukraine after his heated Oval Office argument with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week. This includes all military aid not currently in Ukraine – equipment already loaded in transit, or awaiting disbursement in Polish transit zones.

Deliveries to Ukraine came to a halt around 3:30 a.m. EET on March 4.
