The meeting took place at the request of the Ukrainian side, the ministry’s press service said. Budanov was accompanied by deputies Iryna Vereshchuk and Serhii Kyslytsya.
Bosacki presented the Polish position and said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision “has caused pain and outrage among Polish society, which has supported Ukraine since the start of Russia’s aggression,” the ministry said. He added that bilateral relations must be built on historical truth, respect for victims, and dialogue.
The two also reviewed current military operations and the
frontline situation in the context of possible diplomatic scenarios and the
conditions for peace talks, the ministry said. Bosacki and Budanov affirmed the
strategic nature of Poland-Ukraine partnership and its importance given
regional security challenges and Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
