He warned that the nation could lose if it is torn apart by internal contradictions.
"We have one common problem and one enemy. Therefore, internal contradictions must be resolved through open dialogue to achieve a common goal: defending our country. I am confident that Ukraine will be saved by its powerful troops and institutions," Budanov said.
He also called on Ukrainians to show wisdom and responsibility.
The law sparked a night of protests down the hill from the Presidential administration building. Over a thousand protesters gathered at the Ivan Franko Theater square in Kyiv, with accompanying demonstrations in Lviv, Odesa, and Dnipro.
The square was filled nonstop with chanting. “Shame.” “Ukraine is not Russia.” Intermixed with “Glory to Ukraine” and the Ukrainian national anthem. The atmosphere was energetic, engaged, and ready for a prolonged movement if needed.
