Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million Canadian dollars (approximately $367 million) at the NATO summit in Washington, Ukrainian Presidential Office reported on its website on July 11.

He made this announcement at the meeting with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO Summit sidelines.

“It is crucial for our people to hear this," Zelenskyy noted.

"Thank you for your assistance and the additional defense package, it will surely help our heroes at the battlefield."

The leaders discussed Ukraine’s defense needs and coordinated efforts within the coalition of fighter jets.

Zelenskyy also highlighted the necessity of expanding training missions for Ukrainian pilots.

The parties exchanged views on the possibility of additional training for Ukrainian pilots using Canadian flight simulators and holding one of the thematic meetings in Canada following the first Peace Summit.

Both leaders condemned recent Russian strike on Kyiv, killing 30+, and demolishing the Okhmatdyt Children Hospital.

Canada is set to provide essential medical support to those affected by the recent Russian strike on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, Prime Minister Trudeau added.
