Canada introduced a new package of sanctions targeting Russian individuals and entities, applying to 76 individuals and organizations both inside and outside Russia that support its aggressive actions, according to an announcement published on the Canadian government’s website.

The new sanctions list includes TV host Vladimir Pozner, Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilyov, and his wife. Restrictions were also imposed on the Dialog agency and its director, Vladimir Tyutyun, the Institute for Internet Development, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, the Artek children’s center, the Russian Copper Company, Russia’s Aerospace Forces, and the country’s radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops.

On Feb. 24, European Union foreign ministers approved the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. According to the official text, the sanctions target 48 individuals and 35 entities responsible for actions that undermine or threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.

The EU restrictions also apply to 74 tankers from Russia’s shadow fleet, which transport Russian oil in violation of sanctions.
