Canada is considering purchasing drones manufactured in Ukraine for its own defense needs, said Canadian Defense Minister, Bill Blair, reported Ukrinform.

The Canadian minister revealed that during his recent visit to Kyiv, he was able to discuss Ukraine's experience in using drones on the battlefield.

"We discussed possibilities for cooperation, including how coalition allies, such as Canada, could invest in purchasing drones made in Ukraine,” Blair said.

“I see this as a very realistic opportunity."

He is also confident that "no one knows better than Ukrainians how to fight against Russians."

"They have two years of serious combat experience in this regard,” he said.

“I think we all should learn from the evolution of drone usage in warfare and make decisions on future procurement based on that."

Canada will allocate $29.4 million to the Czech initiative to purchase 800,000 artillery shells from third countries for Ukraine, Blair announced on March 19.
