The Chonhar checkpoint in Ukraine's partially occupied Kherson Oblast had been closed following a Ukrainian drone attack, Russian-installed authorities said on June 7.

Russian occupation authorities claimed that a Ukrainian drone attack damaged the bridge deck.

They also reported that traffic through the Dzhankoi checkpoint had been suspended.

On June 6, drone operators from Ukraine's Special Operations Forces said they had established aerial control over a key section of the land route used by Russian occupation forces to move supplies and personnel to occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian strikes on Russian logistics

In early June, Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency, said Ukrainian drone attacks on the land corridor to Crimea were part of a sustained campaign. According to Budanov, disrupting the route, which Russia has turned into a key supply artery for its forces in southern Ukraine, significantly complicates the occupiers' plans.

Alongside strikes on land routes, Ukraine's Defense Forces have also continued targeting Russian maritime logistics. Earlier this week, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a strike on a Russian vessel near the coast of Crimea.

Several days later, overnight into June 4, another drone attack near the peninsula destroyed a Russian patrol boat, according to Ukrainian officials.
