The court said it denied the request because Mindich is wanted, there were no circumstances preventing him from coming to court, and his identity could not be properly verified when trying to join the hearing online.
Mindich’s lawyer had asked that his client be allowed to participate remotely because he is abroad. The lawyer said Mindich could not return to Ukraine “because of Russian shelling” and because of “political persecution.” “As soon as fears for his life and health subside, he is ready to come and speak,” the lawyer said.
On Dec. 21, 2025, Ukrainska Pravda reported that
Mindich was in Israel. On March 31, the Prosecutor General’s Office said
it had sent Israel a request to extradite Mindich.
