Numerous firing points set up by Russians along the sandy beaches of Yevpatoria in temporarily occupied Crimea were discovered by the peninsula’s resistance movement Atesh and reported on Telegram on July 17, accompanied by numerous photos.

The guerillas expressed concern for the safety of the local population because the military equipment and defensive structures are located in recreational areas and near civilian facilities and homes.

The general appearance of the structures suggests that “they will provide only five minutes of defense for invaders during a landing operation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the statement said.

This follows an earlier report by Atesh on July 6 about the intensification of the defensive structures construction by the Russians along the Crimean coast line due to fears of a possible amphibious operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the resort cities of Yevpatoria and Yalta, the Russians were hiring civilian contractors to equip firing and defensive positions that “look very cartoonish.”
