Erdogan assured that Türkiye’s support for Ukraine’s
territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence remains unwavering.
“Returning Crimea to Ukraine is a requirement of
international law,” Erdogan stated in his video address.
He expressed hope that efforts to support Crimean Tatars
would continue, including working toward their release from Russian captivity.
“We sincerely want the war to end with a just and durable
peace based on Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence,”
the Turkish president said.
The fourth Crimea Platform summit is taking place in Kyiv on
Sept. 11. Attendees include Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Latvian Prime
Minister Evika Silina, Czech Senate President Miloš Vystrčil, and Croatian
Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign
Secretary David Lammy are also visiting Kyiv.
