Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Czech Prime
Minister Petr Fiala signed the agreement in Woodstock, UK, the statement said.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion,
Czechia has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth about EUR 400
million ($436.3 million) and will continue to support Ukraine with the same
commitment over the 10-year duration of the agreement. Czechia will also
explore options for supplying additional military equipment based on Ukraine’s
needs.
A significant portion of the agreement focuses on enhanced
military-technical cooperation, primarily involving small and large-caliber
ammunition, the potential production of firearms and light weapons, as well as
drones, electronic warfare equipment, and heavy machinery.
The countries will continue joint annual training of
approximately 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers in 2024 and beyond as part of the EU
Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM).
The Czech partnership with the Ukrainian city of Dnipro and
its Oblast in non-military spheres, particularly in “reconstruction, recovery,
and sustainable development,” is also mentioned.
Czechia has declared support for Ukraine’s future membership
in the EU and NATO.
Ukraine signed a security agreement with Romania on July 11, and with Luxembourg on July 10.
Ukraine has signed 20 security agreements, including with the United States and the European Union.
