“Economy Ministry data indicated that 30 auctions for demining agricultural lands totaling 5,370 hectares have been held since the beginning of 2025," she wrote.
"The final price of the work amounted to ₴336.6 million ($8.4 million), meaning that the cost of demining one hectare is ₴62,000 ($1,550).”
She highlighted that as of early 2025, the area of potentially mined land was 140,000 square kilometers — and the enemy shows no signs of stopping.
Yuzhanina noted that the 2025 state budget allocates only ₴2 billion ($50 million) for demining and expressed concern that at these funding levels, the process will stretch out indefinitely.
It was earlier reported that a new innovation platform for humanitarian demining has started operating in Ukraine, along with a mechanism to lease or rent demining machines.
Ukrainian demining operators can now access machines through leasing or rental programs.
In March 2025, Ukraine’s state compensation program helped operators return over 430 hectares of farmland to agricultural use after clearance.
