Death toll from Russian drone attack on Odesa rises to three

The death toll from the Russian drone attack on Odesa on March 28 has risen to three, regional governor Oleh Kiper reported on Telegram.

A 76-year-old man died in hospital after sustaining severe injuries.

The man had been in extremely critical condition since hospitalization.

In total, 14 people were injured in the Russian attack, including a 9-year-old boy. Earlier reports had mentioned 11 injured.

Overnight into March 28, the Russian army launched a massive Shahed drone attack on Odesa. One drone struck the roof of a maternity hospital where more than 80 people were present. All patients and medical staff were in a shelter.

Strikes were also recorded on an apartment building, houses and public broadcaster Suspilne media facilities. One Suspilne premises cannot be restored.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported an overnight attack involving 273 strike UAVs and the downing of 152 drones. The main direction of the Russian strike was Odesa Oblast.

On the morning of March 31, Russian forces again attacked Odesa with strike UAVs. One drone hit a nine-story building. A 50-year-old man was injured.
