Ukrainian drones and Neptune missile strike Russian ammunition depot in Rostov Oblast

The operation involved Ukraine’s SBU Security Service and the Ukrainian Navy. Initially, SBU drones "overloaded" the Russian air defense systems, followed by a Neptune missile strike on the target.

Throughout the night, Russians on social media reported the sounds of drones flying overhead, the activity of Russian air defense systems, and reported a powerful explosion—the impact of the Neptune missile. Later, they discussed multiple blasts near Chaltyr, indicating secondary detonations of ammunition.

"The SBU, together with the Ukrainian Navy, hit a crucial target—a warehouse with reconnaissance drones that guide enemy strikes on Ukrainian cities and the front line," an informed source in the Defense Forces said.

“Now there will be fewer of these Russian 'birds' in the sky. Operations against military targets in enemy territory will continue.”

The Russian Defense Ministry earlier claimed to have "intercepted" 40 "unmanned aerial vehicles," with 16 allegedly shot down in Rostov Oblast, 10 over the Sea of Azov, four each over Kursk and Voronezh oblasts, three over Bryansk Oblast, and the rest in Krasnodar Krai and Belgorod Oblast.
