Drones attacked Sevastopol in occupied Crimea overnight, sparking a large fire at an oil depot near Cape Manganari between Kozacha and Komyshova bays, monitoring channel Crimean Wind reported on Apr. 18.
According to local residents, the attack lasted from about 12:35 a.m. to 2:40 a.m. Satellite imagery confirmed a fire in the Manghanari area. Monitoring group Exilenova+ said multiple fires broke out in Sevastopol after the attack, including at the port.
Crimea’s Moscow-installed governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said the smoke rising over Sevastopol was from a fire in the Kozacha Bay neighborhood. He said a fuel tank with “residual fuel” caught fire after the падіння of a reportedly downed drone.
Razvozhaev said the fire area was “small,” claiming there were no fuel reserves at the oil depot.
