Drones attacked a fuel storage facility in Kotelnych, Kirov Oblast, stated Russian Governor Oleksandr Sokolov on Telegram on Aug. 28.
"A few minutes ago, a UAV struck a petroleum storage tank in Kotelnych," Sokolov wrote.
He noted there were no fires or casualties and claimed, as usual, that "the situation is under control."
This was the first attack on Oblast. Two drones hit a petroleum warehouse at the Vyatka plant: one struck the tank's lid, and the other hit an empty tank, according to the Baza Telegram channel.
Kirov Oblast, about 1,500 km from the Ukrainian border, borders Kazan, where the airport was closed on Aug. 28 due to a UAV attack.
Earlier on Aug. 28, drones also targeted a munitions warehouse in Voronezh and an oil refinery in Rostov.
