An initial inspection revealed that the UAV did not contain explosive components, and sappers are currently investigating the site.
“During the initial inspection, no explosives were found on the drone, and there is no threat to public safety. The incident is under investigation,” police stated.
Authorities are advising citizens to avoid approaching or handling any drones, UAV fragments, or missiles they may encounter and to immediately report any finds to the police, who will secure the area for inspection.
In November and December, five drones were discovered in Moldova. The first two were found by local residents on Nov. 10 — one in the Căușeni District, the other in the Rîșcani District. The third was located on Nov. 12 near the village of Coșernița, Criuleni district, followed by the fourth on Nov. 19 north of Chisinau, and the fifth on Dec. 3 near Paharniceni, Orhei district.
On the night of Feb. 12, Russia launched six ballistic missiles and 123 attack drones into Ukraine. Air defense forces intercepted all missiles and 71 drones.
