The Belarusian air defenses intercepted a drone over Minsk overnight, the country’s Defense Ministry claimed on Telegram on July 29, posting a photo of the debris.
The drone reportedly crashed near an apartment building in Minsk at 2:33 a.m. EET after being suppressed by electronic warfare.
There were no reported casualties.
The ministry is “taking additional measures to strengthen control over the airspace,” while Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko is “keeping the situation under personal control.”
This follows a similar incident involving a drone over neighboring Lithuania on July 28. An unidentified drone of an unspecified type was spotted flying at an altitude of about 200 meters near Vilnius.
