Video captures moment Ukrainian drone strikes major Moscow oil refinery

Moscow emergency services reported earlier that they contained a fire at the refinery, though efforts to extinguish the blaze remain ongoing.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin later announced that the refinery sustained damage following a drone strike, claiming that “60 UAVs were shot down” over Moscow Oblast.

Owned by Gazpromneft, the Moscow Oil Refinery ranks as one of Russia's largest oil refining facilities.

The facility has an annual processing capacity of 11 million tons, supplying approximately 40% of the capital's fuel market and covering 70% of Moscow Oblast’s gasoline and jet fuel needs.

Drone strikes hit Moscow on the morning of June 16, triggering a fire at the city’s largest oil refinery, which Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported is heavily fortified by dozens or potentially hundreds of air defense systems.
