Drone attacks spark fires at two refineries in Russia's Samara Oblast

The initial strike occurred at the Syzran Oil Refinery, igniting a fire around 6 a.m. local time.

Multiple drones targeted the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, resulting in a fire swiftly extinguished.

The governor of Samara Oblast also confirmed the drone attack. A petroleum product processing unit at the Syzran Refinery caught fire, while the attack on the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery was allegedly stopped, he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not issued any statement regarding the incident. Only in the morning did they claim the destruction of two drones over the Belgorod Oblast.

Several Russian oil refineries in different regions have been attacked by drones recently. Ukrainian intelligence and the SBU security service confirmed to NV their involvement in some of the attacks.
