According to the outlet, a Ukrainian drone attacked the Bashneft-Novoil facility on Birsky Tract Street in Ufa on Sept. 13. The drone crashed into the AVT-1 unit, damaging a gas pipeline and a flare stack, which sparked a fire.
Another drone fell on the grounds of the Bashneft-UNPZ (Ufa Oil Refinery). It struck the AVT-6 unit and damaged two pipelines carrying water and nitrogen.
The distance between the two refineries is three kilometers, the journalists noted.
Novoil and UNPZ are part of Bashneft, which belongs to Rosneft. The plants process crude oil to produce gasoline, diesel fuel, petrochemicals and aviation kerosene.
On Sept. 13, it was reported that a fire broke out at the Novo-Ufa Oil Refinery in Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan following a drone attack.
The facility is located about 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine.
Later, sources in NV from a special service confirmed the attack. They reported that on Sept. 12, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence conducted an operation targeting the Bashneft-Novoil refinery.
After the kamikaze drones arrived, powerful explosions rocked the site, and a large-scale fire broke out.
