Drones struck Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, damaging a railway, local officials said on April 12.

Authorities said a rail power line was damaged by falling drone debris in the area of Vasyurinskaya in Russia’s Dinskoy district, halting train traffic and delaying a passenger train. Emergency crews responded to the scene.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses shot down 36 drones overnight — one over Krasnodar Krai and the rest in Kursk, Rostov, Oryol and Belgorod oblasts. As in previous incidents, officials did not say how many drones reached their targets.

On March 19, a drone strike reportedly triggered a fire at an oil depot near the village of Kavkazskaya in Krasnodar Krai.

The fire burned for five days. The depot transfers oil from rail tankers to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, handling up to 6 million tons annually.
