Drones hit a key 750 kV electrical substation in the suburbs of the Russian city of Vladimir overnight, the Exilenova+ Telegram channel reported on Nov. 5.
Regional Governor Alexander Avdeev confirmed the attack on an "energy facility" and claimed that "all essential services in the oblast were functioning normally."
Eyewitnesses posted videos of fire and smoke at the site of the attack on social media. Emergency efforts are underway.
Earlier in the day, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that the country’s air defenses had "intercepted" 40 drones overnight, primarily over Voronezh and Rostov oblasts. Vladimir was not mentioned in the ministry's morning report.
