Drones strike Russia's largest oil refinery in Omsk for the first time

Exilenova+ published a photo of an FP-1 drone with an unusual wing configuration that it said was likely headed toward the Omsk Oil Refinery.

The refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, has an annual refining capacity of 21 million metric tons.

Omsk Oblast Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said air defenses had intercepted drones over Oblast. Flight restrictions were imposed at Omsk Airport for the first time. However, Exilenova+ reported that the refinery was hit at least twice.

According to Meduza, only two of Russia's 10 largest oil refineries had remained undamaged before the latest attack: the Omsk Oil Refinery and the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in Russia's Irkutsk Oblast.

On July 1, attack drones were spotted over Omsk after flying more than 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles) from the Ukrainian border. The drones were believed to be heading toward the Omsk Oil Refinery. Earlier that day, authorities in Omsk Oblast had issued a second drone alert.
