According to local authorities, Russian air defenses allegedly shot down the drones, and the debris fell on "one of the civilian facilities." The resulting fire has been extinguished, Afanasyev said.
The Telegram channel Astra reported that the Zelenodolsk district is home to Ozon and Wildberries distribution centers, as well as other major logistics facilities.
The monitoring channel Exilenova+ also reported a drone attack on Kazan in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, saying smoke was visible over the city on the morning of Aug. 5.
Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses overnight "intercepted" 475 drones over 16 Russian oblasts and occupied Crimea. The ministry also reported attacks on a Wildberries facility in Russia's Tula Oblast and an oil refinery in Ufa.
On July 31, reports said a Wildberries logistics center in Tatarstan's Zelenodolsk district had come under attack. The Russian company later said the warehouse had resumed operations.
