The Bakhchysarai substation is a key power hub supplying electricity to the Bakhchysarai district of Crimea. Following the attack, parts of Bakhchysarai lost power. The Russian-installed authorities in occupied Crimea described the strike on the substation as a "technical disruption."
The Zymine substation is a major energy hub that receives high-voltage electricity from transmission lines and steps it down for distribution. According to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, explosions were heard overnight in the Saky and Bakhchysarai districts. Parts of the Rozdolne district also lost power, subscribers reported. One resident said a drone struck a substation near the village of Slovianske at about 12:45 a.m.
Crimean Wind also reported a strike in Kacha, near Sevastopol. Power outages were reported in villages along the border of two districts, including Berehove, Pishchane and Kutove in the Bakhchysarai district, as well as Andriivka and Kacha in the Sevastopol area. The Inkerman winery, which has a separate power line, also lost electricity.
Explosions were also reported near the Hvardiiske airfield overnight on July 4.
On July 3, the commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, said Ukrainian forces had struck nine electrical substations in Russian-occupied Crimea. Power outages were reported in several settlements across the occupied peninsula, according to Crimean Wind, while the Russian-installed authorities attributed the outages to "accidents" in the power grid.
