"Overnight, the enemy once again attacked DTEK Naftogaz's energy infrastructure with drones and missiles. As a result, operations at several gas production sites in Poltava Oblast were halted," the statement read.
Ukraine's Energy Ministry said Russians launched a massive strike on gas transport infrastructure in several regions overnight. Emergency responders and utility crews are working at the impact sites.
Ukraine's Air Force reported Russia unleashed 416 weapons, including 35 missiles, against the country. Air defenses downed 320 targets. The primary focus, according to the Air Force, was critical infrastructure in Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts, with fallout also in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv oblasts.
Poltava's regional military administration confirmed Russian forces hammered the region's energy sector with drones and missiles overnight. Impacts from missiles, drones, and downed debris were recorded at various locations.
