Eight people remain hospitalized in Kyiv following a shooting in the Holosiivskyi district on Apr. 18, including one child in stable condition with moderate injuries, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Apr. 19.
He said that among the adults, one injured person is in critical condition, three are in serious condition and three are in moderate condition.
Six people were killed in the shooting on Apr. 18, and 14 others were reported injured. The gunman took hostages in a supermarket and killed one of them. He also killed four people in the street. A woman who suffered severe injuries later died in hospital.
KORD special forces of the National Police stormed the store where the suspect was located. He opened fire at police during the operation. Negotiators had attempted to establish contact with him beforehand. The gunman was killed.
