“As for the 2.7 billion, I can confirm that Ukraine has
indeed submitted its payment request. We are now processing it,” Mercier said.
The spokesperson added that he could not yet provide a
detailed assessment of the request or say when Kyiv could receive the funds.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said on April 16, 2026,
after meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, that
Ukraine was preparing to receive EUR 2.7 billion in funding under the Ukraine
Facility. She said the payment was made possible by joint efforts by the
government and the Verkhovna Rada.
“Last week, parliament adopted a package of measures needed
to continue financing, including laws on the digitalization of enforcement
proceedings, integration into the European Union’s energy market and reform of
the state oversight system,” Svyrydenko said.
Svyrydenko said on April 23 that Kyiv expects to receive the
Ukraine Facility funds as early as June.
