Josep Borrell, the European Union’s High Representative for
Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, arrived in Ukraine on Nov. 9, announcing his
visit on social media platform X.
According to Borrell, this is his fifth visit to Ukraine since
Russia’s full-scale invasion and his final one in his capacity as the EU’s top
diplomat.
“EU support for Ukraine has been my personal priority
throughout my mandate and will remain at the top of the EU’s agenda,” Borrell
wrote.
On June 27, the European Council approved the nomination of
Kaja Kallas to replace Borrell as the head of the EU’s foreign service.
In November, the European Parliament will hold hearings for
the members of the next European Commission.
