Germany, in collaboration with its European partners, will
supply Ukraine with 77 additional Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks, German Defense
Minister Boris Pistorius told Spiegel on Sept. 6.
Germany will also deliver 12 PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, valued at EUR 150 million ($165 million). Six howitzers are expected to be delivered this year, with the remaining units to follow in 2025.
On Sept. 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a session of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
On Sept. 4, Bloomberg reported that Germany placed an order for an additional 17 IRIS-T air defense systems for Ukraine.
