European Solidarity party leader Petro Poroshenko said Ukraine is facing a "triple crisis."
"[Andriy] Yermak's dismissal is a necessary but insufficient condition," he said. “Ukraine is in a triple crisis: a frontline crisis, a corruption crisis, a crisis in relations with partners during peace talks. And it depends on parliament and on us whether Ukraine can overcome this crisis.”
The lawmaker noted that the faction continues collecting signatures for the current government's resignation, its reboot and the creation of a new coalition. About 100 lawmakers' signatures have allegedly already been gathered.
The opposition also demands a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and parliament upon his return from abroad "to jointly develop a strategy for the peace process."
European Solidarity MP Iryna Gerashchenko said one of the main demands is a review of the 2026 budget.
"Remove from there (the budget — ed.) the telethon [...] and raise salaries for service members," she said.
For his part, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk announced the premature end of the plenary session.
"I inform you that today we had a number of important laws, including issues related to translating the Convention, where the Russian language needed to be removed (Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine in Connection with Updating the Official Translation of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages — ed.)," he said.
“The faction you see is blocking the consideration of this law today. Dear colleagues, unfortunately, illegal pressure is being exerted on me as a public official. I am forced to announce a break in our plenary session.”
