Hanna Starchevska, a spokeswoman for Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Police, told Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne the blast occurred about 8:30 p.m. and that preliminary reports indicated no injuries. Bomb technicians were working at the scene to determine the cause.
The National Police press service later confirmed the incident occurred in the Amur-Nyzhnodniprovskyi District. The blast damaged windows, furniture, and computers inside the building and damaged a nearby parked car.
Several hours earlier, an explosion at an inactive gas station in Mykolaiv injured seven patrol police officers; two were in serious condition. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said Ukraine is going through an “active phase” of terrorist attacks organized by Russian intelligence and aimed at law enforcement.
Explosions were heard in Lviv early on Feb. 22. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said a terror attack killed a police officer and injured 25 others, who were hospitalized.
Later that day, the National Police detained the suspect, a
33-year-old resident of Rivne Oblast who acted at the direction of Russian
special services. Police published a photo of the detained woman and video
showing explosives being placed in trash bins.
