Drone attack on Russian port in Kaspiysk confirmed by Ukraine's top security body

The Russian port of Kaspiysk in Dagestan was attacked on Nov. 6, with warships targeted, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, has confirmed on Telegram.

"The port in Russia's Kaspiysk was attacked," he wrote.

He also published a video showing that Russian ships were present in the port.

Explosions were heard in the city of Kaspiysk in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, on the morning of Nov. 6 as locals reported a drone attack.

The UAVs attempted to strike the main base of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy in Dagestan, according to photos and videos from the scene.

Due to the drone attack, the airport in Makhachkala suspended operations, and three flights were delayed, according to Russian propaganda media.

According to media reports, this is the first drone attack on Dagestan, and Kaspiysk was allegedly attacked by a light Ukrainian drone, the A-22 “Foxbat."
