A Dec. 11 Russian ballistic missile strike on a quiet Kyiv neighborhood has left houses in ruin and rubble, leaving a giant crater in its wake, Suspilne reported.

"There stands a chimney I built with my hands. Eight meters high, half of it fell, and this is what remained. It's like during the war - only a stove is left, and there's no house," the resident said from his home in Kyiv’s Bortnychi neighborhood.

The accompanying video footage highlights the widespread damage of many buildings in Bortnychi, some entirely obliterated by the Russian strike.

Air raid alerts rang out in multiple Ukrainian regions on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 10. Russian forces launched Shahed drones at Ukraine, and in the early morning hours, Kyiv faced a barrage of eight ballistic missiles.

The State Emergency Service reported that, in the defense against the missile strike on the capital, debris fell in the city’s Darnytskyi district.

The toll on the residents of Bortnychi was severe, with four individualssustaining injuries. A man born in 1992 suffered shrapnel wounds to the lower limbs, receiving initial aid at home. Additionally, three women born in 1963, 1990, and 1992 experienced acute stress reactions, and on-site assistance was promptly provided.
