Russia’s Tuapse refinery ablaze after overnight drone attack - Video

At least 10 explosions were reported by residents at around 2:55 a.m., followed by a "strong blow." According to the Astra Telegram channel, one of the refinery's tanks caught fire as a result of the attack. 

The head of the municipality, Sergei Boyko, confirmed the fire at the refinery, but did not provide any details on the cause.

“Today at 3:07 a.m. a tank caught fire on the territory of the oil depot. I am at the scene. According to preliminary data, there are no dead or injured," he wrote on Telegram.

The refinery became the target of at least three drone attacks in the past 12 months. In January 2024, it had to temporarily suspend operations.

Earlier, the Astra reported that drones had hit at least 17 oil facilities across Russia in the first two months of 2025. Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, described the Tuapse port as one of Russia’s most critical Black Sea infrastructure sites.

The Tuapse Refinery is a Russian oil processing enterprise in Krasnodar Krai, operated by RN-Tuapse Refinery LLC. The plant forms a single production complex with the marine terminal of the oil supply company Rosneft — RN-Tuapse Marine Terminal LLC. Approximately 90% of its output is exported. The refinery, part of the Rosneft oil company, has an annual capacity of about 12 million tons.
