Syrskyi added that he spent a week on the eastern front, visiting nearly all Ukrainian brigades operating in Donetsk Oblast, as well as those deployed to Vovchansk, near Kharkiv.
“Compared to my previous visit two weeks ago, the Toretsk direction [Donetsk Oblast] has become active, where soldiers of the 95th Air Assault Brigade heroically stem attacking enemy hordes,” the commander said.
According to him, the situation remains challenging near Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast. Russia has resumed assaults on the town, having replenished its units stationed in the area. Syrskyi also noted that despite reinforcing Ukrainian units there with reserves, this direction "requires constant attention" and additional ammunition and firepower.
Summarizing, Syrskyi said that while the intensity of combat has decreased in other directions, the frontline has expanded overall.
The commander-in-chief reiterated that additional manpower, anti-air capabilities, and electronic warfare systems remain the most pressing needs for the Ukrainian military.
